Our mission is to provide the resources and pathway to individual athletes and performers who are experiencing meaningful mental health challenges as they strive for excellence in their craft. We exist to stop the isolation, anxiety and potential self-harm for those who lack traditional team or support structures by offering mental health resources, performance education, and a safe social platform.

Leadership.

Liam Foster

Founder & Executive Director

Liam is a 16-year-old from Charlottesville, Virginia. He is a national-class golfer who plays on the American Junior Golf Association tour and has won many tournaments since he started the game at age seven. He is a dedicated student who attends the Stanford Online High School and has interest in both STEM and the humanities. Liam is also a social person who values friendships and the perspectives of others.

As with some, Liam’s life journey balancing the demands of being an elite athlete, a high-performing student and an available friend has exposed him to deeply felt anxiety and stress. He understands firsthand the pressures that come with high expectations. This insight inspired him to create a supportive online community for individual performers facing similar struggles.

Liam founded theEdge.social to provide a safe space where young people can share their experiences, seek advice, and find solace in knowing they are not alone. The community provides resources on stress, mental health, and holistic personal success as a pathway and a toolset for healthy self-identity.

Liam's initiative is a gift to himself and all those who are taking the hero’s journey through their teen years in pursuit of high aspirations, hard work and unknown outcomes.
